Members who violate this code will be dealt with in accordance the St. Louis Old English Sheepdog Club Constitution and By Laws. By becoming a member of the St. Louis Old English Sheepdog Club, a person is acknowledging that they have read the Code of Ethics below and agree to abide by that code. 1. I will exhibit sportsman-like behavior at all club events in regard to other members, their dog(s) and all members of the general public. This includes the dog being properly tagged, on leash and under control and cleaning up after my dog. 2. I will not solicit the sale of puppies to other members of the club and will respect the clubs stance to refer all prospective owners to the OESCA for breeder referrals. 3. I will explain to all prospective Old English Sheepdog owners the advantages as well as the disadvantages of owning an Old English Sheepdog. 4. I will discourage the purchasing of puppies from dog wholesalers and pet shops. I will encourage prospective owners to have a good understanding of the breed and its potential health issues and to purchase responsibly. 5. In accordance with these ethics I will provide adequate care for my dog including veterinary attention when needed. |
